A little Warped Complaint of Billys: Though guitarist Billy Martin never missed a Warped with the Deftones on the bill, he spent most
of those days dreaming about taking the stage himself. Now that Good Charlotte are preparing for their third Warped stint,
he has no complaints about the shows theyve played, the friends theyve made and the fans they've swayed. Well, maybe one complaint:
"Theres always sandstorms," he says. "You blow your nose and [the snots] black at the end of every day."
Billys Best Warped Memory: "My best Warped Tour memory would have to be when we met our drummer Chris [Wilson], who weve had for about 2 years
now. The second time we were doing the tour, the drummer we had decided he was going to leave. Wed just met the Used, and
the said 'Hey we know this kid who lives in Utah whos a really, really good drummer', and they flew him out. We tried him
out and we played to 10,000 people. Hes been our drummer ever since. So, thanks to the Used and Warped Tour, we met our drummer."
The bands
Billy wants to see this year: "Warped seems to be expanding. The tours got up to six
stages on certain days, and it just seems to have a lot more bands and a lot more things to see. I know this year theres a
lot of bands we havent seen for a while. New Found Glory is a band weve tour with a lot of times, and its nice to be able
to tour with your friends. Alkaline Trio and Story Of The Year are other good bands that we really like and that were excited
to get to play with again."
Billys First Warped with G.C: "The first Warped Tour we did was a really good learning experience for us, because
we were really young back then, and when you tour with other bands, you learn a lot from [them]. But with Warped Tour, theres
50 or 60 bands everyday that you can watch. We made a lot of friends, and a lot of the older bands showed us the ropes We
have a really special place in our hearts for the Warped Tour because it has done that for us."
